Partnership: TotalEnergies and Amber to supply energy and efficiency services to Edgbaston Stadium

TotalEnergies Gas & Power has broken its duck, signing its first venture in cricket with Warwickshire County Cricket Club to supply energy to Edgbaston Stadium.

The firm has signed a one-year gas and power deal with the option to extend the partnership.

TotalEnergies will work with the club’s energy efficiency consultants Amber Energy “to support our goal of making Edgbaston the most socially responsible sports stadium in the UK. We look forward to working with the team”, said Warwickshire CCC commercial director Gareth Roberts.

Edgbaston hosts 11 days of major match cricket in 2017, with five matches – including England v Australia, India v Pakistan and a semi-final – in the prestigious ICC Champions Trophy, an Investec Test Match between England and West Indies, and NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day.

“We’ve made a commitment to being the responsible energy major worldwide,” said Dave Cranfield, vice president of Total’s European business division.  “A crucial aspect of this is working with our customers to help them achieve their energy efficiency goals. Our relationship with Warwickshire CCC is a great example of this in action.”
