Supply Number Format Changes
The Supply Number Format Changes (R0083) mark an important industry landmark tied to the Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) Programme. Specifically, this project aligns with Milestone 8 of the MHHS programme, which is set to go live on 24th September 2025. This change demonstrates the industry's commitment to modernising and improving settlement processes.
As part of the Supply Number Format Changes, updates will be introduced to the existing Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) structure:
- The ‘Meter Timeswitch Code’ (MTC) will be replaced by the ‘Standard Settlement Configuration’ (SSC), which increases the field from three digits to four digits.
- The ‘Line Loss Factor Class’ (LLFC) will be renamed to the ‘DUoS Tariff ID’.
These changes aim to streamline settlement processes and improve the consistency and accuracy of data across the industry.
For our customers, the changes will primarily involve cosmetic updates to paperwork where the old data items are currently referenced. As a result, any future billing reports and documentation (e.g., offers, contracts, and invoices), from 24th September 2025 will be adjusted to reflect the new format. These updates ensure alignment with the new industry standards while maintaining operational continuity.
